Petitie tegen het verbod op demonstratie Brussel

The Brussels mayor, the Socialist Freddy Thielemans, has, on 9th of August 2007 sent out a press release in which he has banned a demonstration with a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of 9/11 on the 11th sept in Brussels. The reason for the prohibition is that he says he cannot guarantee public safety and that he won’t disturb the Islamic section of the population in Brussels. By invoking the lack of public safety, he is precisely highlighting SIOE’s demonstration title:

Stop the Islamisation of Europe.

SIOE’s message through the 4 slogans is exactly to warn against conditions such as these, where people no longer can use their freedom of expression and feel secure, but the shocking facts are that these conditions already reign at the heart of the EU. SIOE’s demonstration will of course happen, as a peaceful utterance of opinion, an utterance of opinion for which Moslems have countless times received permission to demonstrate in Brussels.

Therefore it is, of course, completely absurd to ban a peaceful demonstration because they are afraid of violent muslim counter-demonstrators!

We kindly ask the major of Brussels to alter his decision and let the free people of Europe demonstrate for their civil rights. We want our right to have a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of 9/11 !

Alhoewel off topic, wil ik toch op deze plaats twee weldoeners bedanken. Vandaag is het onvermijdelijke gebeurd: een algehele crash van mijn zeven jaar oude PC. In een mum van tijd stonden twee trouwe 'fans' van Lucida bij mij voor de deur met een nagenoeg nieuwe computer die ze met veel ijver deze dag nog geheel opnieuw voor mij hebben geïnstalleerd. En zoals jullie kunnnen zien alles lijkt weer gewoon te werken. Voor degene die nu nog volhoudt dat er geen onbaatzuchtige medemensen bestaan verklaar ik dat elke redding te laat komt.

Toen ik het eerste bericht over deze demonstratie las, vermoedde ik eigenlijk al dat die verboden zou worden. Ik heb de petitie wel getekend, maar dat zal wel niet helpen, de vrijheid van meningsuiting bestaat niet meer.

Brussel, toch al niet de zetel van de (EU)democratie, laat zich weer eens van zijn slechtste kant zien.

Voordeel van eea is wel dat we niet meer bang hoeven te zijn voor het verlies van onze rechten, die zijn we namelijk ook kwijt.

Gelukkig maar dat er nog mensen zijn als door Lucida genoemd, dat geeft de burger weer een beetje moed.

De Islamterreur is productief.
De al dan niet stille dreiging met terreur loont.
Het is zo ver gekomen dat het beschaafde westen aan zelfcensuur avant la lettre doet.

Het begint steeds meer de gewoonte te worden dat politici zich niets aantrekken van de meningen van diegenen aan wie zij hun macht te danken hebben. Waarom zouden ze ook? Wie wijst hen nog terecht? De rechter niet, de kiezer niet. Geleidelijk aan hebben ze zich boven de wet gemanuvreerd en kunnen de maatschappij zonder noemenswaardige weerstand hun onzinnige ideologieën opdringen.

Natuurlijk heb ik deze petitie getekend, maar ik ben er bang voor dat de heer Thielemans hem achteloos naast zich neer zal leggen. Zij die zijn islamitische kolonisatiepoliek willen verstoren hoeven noet op zijn medewerking te rekenen.

Update Brussels Demo: Germans Back Out, Danes and British Stay Put

This afternoon Udo Ulfkotte, the German co-organizer of the anti-Islamization demonstration in Brussels on 11 September, called off the demonstration, which earlier was banned by the Brussels authorities. During the past weeks Ulfkotte claimed that he would bring 20,000 demonstrators to the Belgian and European capital. On his website he announced today that the demo will not take place for security reasons since “extremists prepared to use violence can abuse the demonstration for violent actions.”

The Danish and British co-organizers have immediately expelled Ulfkotte from SIOE (Stop the Islamization of Europe) and say his decision to cancel the demo is “unilateral.” They announce that the demo will go ahead as planned. Anders Gravers, the Danish co-president of SIOE, who was in Brussels today, was told by the Brussels authorities that there may be “terrorist attacks against the demo.” According to the Danish and British SIOE branches the news that there will be a terrorist attack in Brussels is “the final desperate tactic from the authorities” to prevent the .....
